penalty? Is there a penalty to opt out of the program? I am with a program with my credit union. (No I don't want to ask them)

I am sure it would take more than one week's infraction to be taken out of the program, especially if you owe them money.

The spending should be averaged overall for the entire month, not just one week....they are trying to set expectations not allow you to fail so readily.

Good luck with the program...I know it must be so hard!

If you don't ask the credit union, you may find out the hard way what the penalty is. And it may cost you a whole lot more than you think.

Asking questions like that here is like asking your mechanic for advice on how to bake bread. He may be great at it, or he may just put big greasy thumb prints on it. The point is, you won't know who gives you good advice or bad, until it's too late. You have to go to the only source that KNOWS the right answer.

Suck it up, and call the credit union.

The big penalty opting out of the program is that you will be even deeper in trouble.

If you spend more than you are budgetted for then you are not following the program and you will end up in more trouble credit wise. You need to learn how to follow the rules and live debt free.
