For some reason you got off the hook. If he ever catches you again you will be in trouble for sure.

I would have thought had you been "nicked" you would have been given a ticket on the spot, You were either lucky that you caught the officer on a good day, or you had not completed the required distance at the higher speed. In the event take this as a warning, Better late than DEAD

the difference between a written warning and a verbal warning is........ the cop is going to let you off "this" time with a written warning but its in their computer now and if you get stopped again they have a record of it and you'll probably get a larger fine since you were warned....a verbal warning is if the cop just doesnt want to write out a ticket and is in a good mood just dont let the same cop catch you speeding again..he/she may not be so forgiving the next time...you just recieved a verbal warning.

You usually get some type of note or ticket at the time, but I do not know all the laws in your state. Did he ask for drivers licence, ID, etc. If not then you may be a Lucky lad.

He gave you a verbal warning, and let you off the hook. He also noted your plate number. If he catches you again, you get the full ticket.
