I know Hayden & Gayle are also there but boy! these two guys hit it like a rocket.

I saw in the last match, Dhoni sent the ball to the boundary in just 2.66 seconds.

Without any doubt, Dhoni & Symonds are the two must hard hitting batsmen in world cricket today.

It's hard to choose bewtween the two so i will let you decide who is the hardest hitter

The straight boundary at sector 16 stadium is about 76m (according to a cricket commentator) which is quite big.
Dhoni & Symond's hits were flying to the boundary in no time.

Dhoni hits at nearly 30 meters per second which is damn quick

Dear Poisonivy, i don't think that Dhoni is anything less than Symonds in the batting department.
Yes overall,Symonds is more valuable because of his bowling abilities but Dhoni can match any hitter in the batting department.
I have seen him scoring runs against good bowling line ups.
Symonds & Dhoni are very much like each other. Their style of batting is different but it 'WORKS' almost everytime

dhoni is the better batsman. symonds performs well against india which is not a compliment.

symonds is a harder hitter.

i have to tell u, klusener was the best hitter i have ever seen in the 99 world cup.

he just declined and now out.

:(

klusener- zulu warrior, hope u are doing well.

australia tying and moving on just broke my heart in the 99 cup.
(if u folks can't remember, aus and SA drawed but australia moved on due to a better run rate.)

I would say it's Symonds, Dhoni is good i dont say he's bad, but there is something speciall to be noticed in between these two, those who plays cricket might know this.

You must have a close look at Dhoni's & Symond's shots, when Dhoni plays a six he gives the full body effort to the bat & only plays a six by raising his hands fully. It's powerfull.

But Symonds he just flips the ball, he gives the full body effort to the wrist & turn the bat over in a quick movement by the effort of his wrist & hand. Very Powerfull one's too, so just imagine what would happen if he plays shots like how Dhoni plays, it would be a massacre.

Another familiar senior player who plays those kinda shots mostly is
Sanath Jayasuriya, look at the way how he plays the pull drive shots to the off side mostly,,, he just flips it off, thats it, the ball goes a little bit high up in the air & crosses the boudary line peacefully.

But Mayuresh, Sanath is unique.
And please dont think Im saying this cus im a Lankan.

Cheers!

It is a very good question indeed, but Dhoni is the best because Dhoni have made 186* and Symonds have just made less than 150. On the fourth one day Dhoni hitted a ball and the ball went 155 kmph and that was the fastest shot . Symonds have only hit in the speed of 137 kmph.

Probs Sachin if there is an ansa but Dhoni is still probably da hardest hitter of the ball. He drinks 8 litres of milk per day so he bound to b da hardest hitter in da team

Ahem... Afridi? I guess the one he hit at the WACA off Andrew Symonds... In 98, Mark Waugh hit Vettori for a huge six at the same ground but into the opposite stand...

Basically, there've been some bigger sixes hit compared to those of Mahendra Singh Dhoni... Dhoni hasn't even been to Australia yet... But I still think it's too soon to count your chickens...

Anyway, I think Symonds can hit bigger sixes than Dhoni and I think he's a better batsman than him too...

Id have to say Symonds he hits sixes even when he mis times the ball due to the fact he hits the ball so hard. How fast the ball gets to the boundary would not show how hard the ball has been hit as many factors come into this (e.g Pace of ball on to bat. timing of ball, whether ball is hit out of sweetspot.)

i would prefer Dhoni cause he always rocks.hes young and not so experienced but he rules, symonds is good but really agrassive on the field and goes for shorts and this tells us that he is experienced.well i like dohni a lot not to say that im an indian but i think hes doing pretty much better than any other captain hes responsiable and he enjoys the game.the way he bats rocks.well i go for dhoni 90 per cent and remaining to symonds.

I think both are hard hitter of cricket ball and both are strong men. You can't compare them with each other. In my opinion its all about timing who ever times the ball well hits it more harder so at times Dhoni is harder and at times Symonds is better.

The time to the boundary is arbitrary. Boundaries vary in circumference.
Anyway I have a doubt about Dhoni & Symonds unless this survey is limited to what you have seen.
