Why is this in the Science and Math section!?!
Putting it in Science under "Alternative" justs lends undeserved credibility to the garbage that usualy floats through this section!
Whom at Yahoo Answers do we have to yell at to rearrange the Math and Science section to only include Math and Science?
I mean did that YA Gerbil have to spend time in George Noory's digestive tract to get this favor done?

Yes but to be fair, there's plenty of garbage here anyway.

People in zoology saying 'if we came from monkeys why are there still monkeys?'

People in astronomy saying 'did we really land on the moon?'

You begin to feel dirtied by being surrounded by so many idiots, don't you?

I get annoyed that the discovery 'science' channel, frequently puts on credulous shows about aliens, bigfoot and psychic powers. Does someone want to tell them what science actually IS?

It does seem to be lost in the science section.

It would be more interesting and informative to see a science section or similar monitored by those with actual credentials for a thumbs up or a star.

Y/A is slowly improving and evolving and no doubt appreciates our suggestions.

Agreed. The only good part about this section being here is that it allows silly, superstitious ideas to be combatted with logic, which in the end may change a mind or two (or is that just wishful thinking?) If this was located in the mythology section, the only people who would read the questions would be like-minded, which would only cause the dumb to get dumber.

Amen sister! The only positive thing I see is that it gets rational people interacting with irrational people. I think most of the time it does no good whatsoever, but I am convinced that from time to time we make a connection.

I was once curious about the paranormal. Because of the garbage out there I took it for granted that ghosts exist. I think if I came across a place like this at that young age it might have given me pause and I would not have wasted so much time, energy and effort living in an unnatural world.

You're right all this silly garbage belongs elsewhere. On the bright side maybe someones learning something. These crazy superstitions,at least here get a counterpoint.Maybe someone is learning something. If we can stop a few people from moving to Sillyville. That's a good thing.Besides, I'm amazed by the way people can suspend logic and rationality. It's sad but fascinating at the same time.

They do it for the people that believe..they have to make every one happy which is hard to do. By putting it under Science, the people who believe are happy. If they put it some where else that would be disrespecting the what some people believe to be Truth.

To tell you the truth, I'm getting kind of used to the wackiness. You're right that it lends undeserved credibility to the woo-woo claims, but it's not like Yahoo is recognized as any kind of scientific resource. I don't think Yahoo really knows enough to understand what makes something scientific and what doesn't, so you may be waiting a long time.

As one who checks some of the hard science sections and usually ignores this one, I vote to keep it. Keeping it here gives the folks who think ghostbusting *is* scientific someplace to go, and keeps them out of Physics.

Now we just need a section called "What Happens if You Turn Your Headlights on while Traveling at the Speed of Light".

Naw, we dont really want this category in Folklore and Mythology. This is the one place where people will get a straight and honest answer to their paranormal questions. It might not be what they want to hear, but for the most part they will get the truth.
In folklore and myth, these people will just get crap about the vibrations of thier chakrahs and stupid stuff like that.

Well, if you think about it - In an effort to prove such existence, one would have to prove it by means of science, correct.

Maybe "YA" need to start investigating it, researching some claims, instead of dismissing it.

Or maybe the scientific community doesn't have an answer for some of the unexplainable myths.
