she likes to indulge in cat nip on a daily basis. It's not like a once in awhile thing, a little at a party once in awhile. It's gotten much worse than that. She's on it daily, and it's effecting her home and work life. She's not a functioning addict any more like she was, now she's just a bum, laying around getting high. I'm surprised I haven't come home to her with a needle sticking out of her arm and laying in her own vomit. not yet anyway.

Should I send her to Rehab?

I had the same problem with my cat, Psycho Bi****. I Tried the tough love approach, "No canned food for you". That didn't work out very well. She just chewed the door off the freezer and ate all the steaks.

Of course my circumstances may be different than yours. She hates cat nip. She's more of a bourbon drinker. I tried getting her to stick with beer, only to find she developed a taste for beer with a bourbon back. So much for that.

I tried to get her into a 12 step program but she shredded the cat travel box and then tossed the metal cage I bought into the septic tank. That cost a few hundred to fix.

So, I figured just to let her be. It's a lot quieter around the old homestead now. We sit on the porch, slamming down boiler makers and watch the moon rise.

She seems to be at peace. With only an occasional attack to the pink flamingos and a sorte now and then to rip up the pit bull next door, life is good.

I suppose that sometimes one just has to accept our animal friend as they are.

I just wish she would quit chewing off the trailer hitch.

Oh, and I woudn't worry too much about the vomiting. Psycho B**** just hocked out what looks like a sweater sleeve without any ill effects.

Because you always blame the victim if you are the criminal.. and if you can get enough People on your side, you are likely to walk based on the doubt that exists in peoples mind..ie, rape victim/ "she was asking for it",.. This is a super common Humanism and with the aide of the 4th estate (the media) Corporate interests, along with the Lobby influence they carry, and a system that has been based on suppression, theft and butchery from day one. (Think of the Land grab that ensued once we were firmly footed here, The Genocide of the Natives, the Barbery of the Rail Road and Oil Men etcetcetc) Our entire system is based on exploitation.. and the system tells us early early on that you "are a winner" or a loser.. these words may never be uttered but rest assured those imprints are made again very early, and no one can deny with a shred of truth that our current forms of Dogma do not create this Class gap, or rather institue it further, by constant references and Images of an "upper" and "lower" class.. often times people accept all of this for a life time without ever once stopping and considering their root impulse.. Just check some of the answers to the question, The right in this room feel they can earn it no matter what.. that's why even if they're Piss poor, they're still harboring hostility about those "Goddamn" lazy welfare Mothers... without any clue of what actual spending, or what the actual "workfare" system offers.. Only what their Media Demigods tell them.. at the end of a Monopoly game, 1 person owns everything, maybe one person will run the jails, one person will run the railroad, and maybe another the bank.. who's ever left is fighting for those spots, some end up in jail... get the picture? Nothing accidental here.. what it really shows is that we've been Devolved through programming, and our own basic good has been replaced with "Christian" sin... Thank you Paul and Co.... it's Rome, but this time the whole world is going to Burn...

Naah, catnip is cheap and who ever heard of a cat holding a job or being useful for anything other than rodent control and leaving gross dead animals on the doorstep anyway. My cat is a pot head and smells like a giant fart and I'm not worried! I do have to keep my marijuana ( I got that eyeball thing where smoking pot is OK! I swear! ) under lock and key and in a safe in a secret location unaccessible to cats or else the little hop head smokes it all up and the chronic aint getting any cheaper. Speaking of which, I need to go get my cat a bud before he shreds my leather jacket....bye!

Yes, get the druggie-puss over to the clinic quick! My cat liked to free-base Tender Vittles and had a steady supply of catnip from that shady little Persian down on the corner. At night, she'd have a bunch of her deadbeat alley cat friends over to roll up and smoke some catnip doobies, and around 3am they'd crank up her Stray Cats CD, and the pizza guy would show up with about 20 anchovy pizzas. The cops would show shortly afterwards.....but she's since cleaned up her act, and is studying engineering at MIT! I'm so proud of her. But she admittedly isn't into Sunday School, so we just sleep in and go bowling on the weekends.

Contact your local CIA (Catnip Indulgence Anonymous ) in your community. They may be able to help you to locate a rehab site nearest you.

I commend you for recognizing that she does have a problem. Based on what you've told us - she needs a program immediately. Let's see if we can't get her cleaned up for the holidays. We also need to look into something for you because clearly you have enabled her. ♥ Morning darlin.
