Without stimulus of supernatural we could touch the people for the following :
goodness, good qualities, care and compassion for fellow human beings, love for everyone and nature, moral vaues and ethics

We could also touch their minds and persuade them to find the truth, find purpose of living and the world, goodness and nature, right kind of living, right thinking, being just and generous, being strong as well as practical, stand against injustice when it is right to do so however being practical and not jeopardizing one's self-interest, being considerate, being honest, living a balanced and good life etc.

Good question since right kind of motivation should not involve stimulating with hopes and fears of supernatural.

Persuade them to do what. I am persuaded to action continuously of things and people not supernatural. On an other face of the possible, all is supernatural, all is natural and all is God if these words were made synonym with one an other, and why not. We are mortal, period. If a God is not forgiving, then it is not God, it is a scarecrow, a scapegoat, an excuse, it is the other justification, it is fear against fear, infinite negation. Fear is negative, the Judgment is negative, and, so, where is the Will then, It is not and so freeman is not for freewill is not for the Will is not.

Boethius said, "In so far as is possible, join faith to reason." But men and women of faith do not all use the same logic and so they very often come to different conlusions of reason. Do not allow propositions of faith to enter into questions and persuasions that have a secular nature. This is not the banning of "free speech," it is defining the context as secular and then maintaining that secularity. In so far as is possible, I DISJOIN reason from faith. In doing so I "give to Cesar" what bears his likeness, and give to faith what is faith's.

If you avoid the supernatural, you are left with the "natural". ie basic instincts.

What will a hungry man do for food ?
A tired man for sleep ?
A lonely man for love / sex ?
A rejected man for praise ?
An enslaved man for emancipation ?
