i was raped 4 weeks ago and the man that did it hung himself last week because of it all. ive basically murdered him havent i?

Absolutely not!!. He should have hung himself BEFORE he raped you.

Hun, first I hope you had reported the rape so the right people know. Second, I agree with Vivalveg, this isn't the righ place to share this much hurt with. You really don't need to see any negative or hurtful responses this site might leave you open too.
You've been through a terrible, traumatic event, the person who committed this crime was likely to have unstable himself, so no you can't blame yourself but I can see how you are going to feeling so bad. Please seek help from someone, preferrable with expertise in these situations,e.g. via the police force who I am sure offer support to victims of rape like yourself.
Failing that the Samaritans aren't just for the suicidal, they are anonymous and am sure they would be better able to listen without judging, and you can retain your anonymity.

Im really sorry that tis has happened to you, it's an awful thing for any woman to be subjected to.
I am however a tad concerned about one of your previous questions asking if anybody out there wanted to be friends without wanting sex and then leaving your email address.
Darling after what you've been through i'd be very very wary about asking questions like this and leaving your email address, you'll be leaving the door wide open for all kinds of nutters to contact you.

Of course not! You are probably having some really emotionally challenging time right now but you do have friends, maybe ones that you don't even know about. It was his choice to rape you and it was his choice to end his life. And I'm sorry but if he raped you then maybe it's a good thing that he isn't still alive to hurt more people. If you ever need a friend you can email me. I don't ever give out that choice but you sound like you need a friend. Don't worry, he's out of your life now, and you had nothing to do with him killing himself. Remember it was his choice. Chin up and good luck!

Please pet, get some counselling. It sounds as if you are still in shock over this.
I will be thinking of you for the rest of the day. It's sad that things like this happen but at least the world will be a better place without the man that raped you.

NO YOU HAVE NOT!!! the fact that the beast couldnt handle what little conscious he had left was his problem! Listen love you cannot blame yourself for any of this, AT ALL! dont let him ruin any part of your life because he had no right to rape you, he has no right to upset you and he had no right to die because he should have been arrested and sent to prison! that was all he deserved!
you had no control over him, just like the fact that you had no control over the fact that he raped you!
a rapist likes to be in control love, thats what they like, its why they do it, and by killing himself he remains in control because it meant that the police could not catch him and put him in prison and punish him!
i strongly suggest you go see a councillor and work through this but please please please dont think that it is your fault or else he wins again, because that means he can even control your life when he is dead!!! dont give him the satisfaction as he rots in hell!

No you didn't put the rope round his neck he murdered himself not you ,you are a victim in this he did you wrong i hope you've gotten some help over the rape and see your doc over this suicide thing as i know it will be eating you up inside but you are innocent you never killed anyone.

You're the innocent victim here. I won't insult you by saying put it behind you. That is the bad advice given by insensitive people (usually men). You should try to get some counselling as you do have to come to terms with this awful experience. There are special centres which deal specifically with this.

guilt is a big part of it. but this is slightly different.
you are not to blame. he rapped you so it him forcing himself on you not the other way round.
he hung himself becssue he couldnt deal with the guilt of what he had done to you, he blamed himself and couldnt deal with the consequesnces.
it isnt your fault. you didnt murder him.
please try not to blame yourself. and try and seek some professional help if possible.

YOU are the victim.
And he's paid the price for his evil.
You have to move on and enjoy your life. and the guy that hung himself chose the easy way out , it proves he was a coward.

OK listen to me, he made the decision to attack you this way and then when his conscience got the better of him, he killed himself. None of this was your fault. He was a weak, cowardly individual who took his badness out on you, you did not ask to be a part of this, and you could no more control his actions than you could control the tides. Do not feel guilty, lets face it, the world is a better place without him in it. Go on with your life, thats the best thing you could do.
