Lack of control, in the fat people, and too much strict self control with the eating disorders.
It doesnt help that this size zero figure is "desirable" for young girls.
The world is mad, but I just have to worry about my own 2 daughters, thats all I can do.

People talk about this because its an epidemic. People are getting fatter and some people want to be to thin. Its an eating disorder no matter how you look at it. And the fact that its dangerous. People that are severly overweight or morbidly obese, or bulimic or anorexic need help right away. You how fast they could die from this stuff? The reason they talk about it like they do any other illness, is because to raise awareness of the matter. Like Breast Cancer. The only diffrence is eating disorders are a sort of mental disorder. People that are depressed eat to make them feel good. Which in turn, makes them overweight because then they get addicted to food. Addiction is also a disease. People that are bulimic and anorexic, have a fear of gaining weight. So they keep dieting and or starving theirselves to death uneccssarly. Which in turn, makes them severly under-weight and they suffer from malnutrition.

I'm sick of getting fatter. I'm a mum and I'm just not going to look the way I did when I was 18 ever again. Its a shame but I love that fact that these size zeros walk through their whole life hungry!
Edit
I just read that back and realised I've made it sound like i'm the size of Bali lol! I'm not quite that bad (yet!)
Edit - and I agree with Storm. I have a complete lack of self control.

I'm a size 14 and proud....curvey is the way to go...not too much fat and not too little!! But I'd rather be fatter than look like a skeleton...which is a message I am trying to get across to my 10 year old who thinks she is fat. I blame jerks like Posh spice for promoting such an image!!

I agree with you, definately.
We live in a world where you have to fit in with everyone else, which means some people take it to extremes and end up with eating disorders, and others comfort themselves and end up too big. Nobody seems to be able to find a happy medium. It's a sad situation.

How boring would this world be if everyone was the same!
same size, same height, same colour, people need to stop being so picky, get on with their own lives and stop picking holes in other people.

Yes, the news channels tend to put this repeating news story on when there's nothing else on.

there are too many people forcing their views and opinions of what they think is the right size on to people. people should be able to decide what they are happy with without the nonces who know nothing telling them how they should look
