I had 7 teeth removed last Monday so I have been taking prescribed pain medication (hydrocodone w/acetaminophen). I did not drink the recommended amount of water because I was sleeping alot. So I am pretty sure this is the cause. However, I have always had problems doing #2. But the stools usually don't hard to this degree except every 4-5 months.
I stayed in the restroom for over an hour trying to pass the stool and it would not come out. I pushed and pushed and it hurt so bad. I think my hemrhoids may be flared up, but my butt is so sore that I can't sit down.
I tried a Dulcolax suppository and it wouldn't go in. I got it half way in and it's like it stopped. 10 mins. later there were drops of brown water coming out but that's it. I keep getting the urge but can't go. I took 2 maximum strenth Ex-Lax tablets 11 hours ago and got no response. I had mild cramping but that's it.

Do you know of ANYTHING else that can loosen my stool and just make it slide out? I am talking about whatever stool is in my bowel and the stool that's stuck at the bottom of my butt. Is there anything that can losen that up? I have tried to push to the maximum and it won't budge.
I will give 10 points to the person with the best answer. I would like specific and detailed information please. Thanks!

May I add that when I initially started trying to use the restroom I was able to squeeze out a small portion (and boy was that painful!). It was the size of a small golfball.

You can obtain an enema from your local drug store. There are some that are oily and some that are soapy. This will lubricate the anus and the stool.

You aren't gonna like this answer... But this happens to me a lot. Exactly the same. Since exlax doesn't work until it gets far down in ur system... If ur intestines are already full... It does nothing. So... Pushing and pushing is gonna tear u apart. Literally. Also if u have an abstruction in ur intestines (stool that sits in the intestine too long without movement sets up like concrete) pushing too much and too hard can cause damage to ur intestine. Possibly bursting it. Potentially being fatal...I would go to the doctor and ask them to X-Ray ur stomach. If there is no abstruction... I would do an enema. Manually removing the hard stool (the stool toward the end) is ur only option. A suppository is most likely not going to work just for the simple fact that (because it's completely full down there) as soon as u do it... Ur going to have the urge to evacuate... This not giving the suppository time to kick in before it's out of your system. I hope this helps.

Drink apple juice like crazy. Go buy some now! It will loosen you up. Retry the suppository, but have someone else put it in for you, as you obviously need help getting it in properly. Also, you can try a stool cleanser drink or enema. They are no fun, in my opinion.

I would recommend warm prune juice mixed with 2 tbsp of milk of magnesia. Another thing I would recomment is a Fleet enema that you can buy at the pharmacy to get things started. Good luck. And as always, if you are really worried, call the doctor.

This is a very common side effect. Drink plenty of water, stay away from caffeine. I would also recommend calling your Doctor, he/she may need to change your medication, especially if this has lasted a week. Do not wait to call and do not take any other medications that have not been prescribed to you. this could cause a unhealthy side effect.

Go to your local supermarket or chemist and ask for oil of fig , this is very effective for your problem , you`ll feel better in no time (couple of hours) , but keep drinking water also , maybe orange juice .
Good Luck and hope you go soon :)

You need to get the suppository all the way in and it will work. Get some help with it, ask someone you trust to put it in that certain place for you.
