Count Dracula lives in Transylvanyia. He lives in a huge old creaky mansion at the end of a windy road on the tippy top of a huge hill. Outside the front door one gets the strong sense of something being wrong, the natural instinct to RUN!!!! Bone chilling sounds fill the air...the front door creaks open just enough to let you it, and as soon as youre in...in slams shut behind you, you go to open it and its locked, your first instinct is to stay as quiet as possible and hide against the walls and in the corners...but it is so dark inside you can only smell the strong scent of dust and clumsily make your way through cobwebs at every step. You begin to hear the sounds of an organ playing coming from the left as you turn toward the sound you feel a strong chill across the back of your neck...the faint sound of breath and then comes the very sound of your death " I vant to suck your blood"....

I knew him as a neighbor during his temporary residence in my parish.
He employed grounds keepers who weekly attended to the lawns and gardens around his century old estate.
By way of personal messenger, we were invited to several evening gatherings in the crimson velvet parlors of his gilded baroque halls. Though the windows were draped in heavy tapestry, I always wore a shoulder wrap as the place had much marble which seemed to hold a chill.
The meals were prepared by unseen kitchen staff, and served by silent caterers in very crisp aprons. He loved to serve red meats and wines, both aged, the wines finished and the meats rare.
During cocktails he mesmerized us with stories of his world travels, and of the many old dwellings he had once called home. His wines were very unique in taste and quality, and effected me unlike any other vintage I have tried. Sometimes, he would perform magic tricks at the urging of guest. He was very charismatic, and was often surrounded by more than one beautiful woman.
Oddly, in the morning after such events at his home, I found it hard to remember all the details of the evening before. I attributed it to that dark burgundy wine, which I could still taste if I liked my lips before rising.
I have heard through the grapevine that he had moved on without even a good bye. He left my husband and I with a taste for rare meats and dark burgundy.
