Unplug it immediatly!!! I am not a technician, so I can not tell you what exactly is wrong with the oven. But I do work at an appliance repair company and this is what you should do - do not use it, call where ever you purchased it from and see if they have a service department ( chances are if they do they will send someone out asap) and also get the manufacturers number and give them a call. Out of curiosity, how old is the oven? Best of luck.

I would think you have a short in the cord since it smalls like rubber burning. Definately do not use it again until you have it checked. If you can move it,pull it out and check the plug. If it shows signs of burning, turn off the main breaker switch and then unplug it. Have an electrician or appliance person check it out.

It sounds like a short....that zap and smoke certainly isn't the bread! Did a breaker flip over?

Have it checked out by an appliance repair company like Sears or your favorite shop before using again.

Never put water on an electrical fire!!!!!! It's possible that your bake element burnt up. Cut the switch off and visually inspect the heating element, If you see any irregularities, it's time to replace it.

Unplug it and call a repair person. Don't try to use it until it is fixed.

PLEASE DO NOT THROW WATER TO AN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE.!!
TURN OFF THE BREAKER AND THE OVEN .
CALL THE MANUFACTURER AND HAVE THEM FIX IT.
VENTILATE THE HOME, AND DO NOT USE UNTIL FIXED.
And don't listen to smart people telling you to pour water to an electrical fire. my God!
