There is quite a strong possibility that virus may be shifted or retained in that backup of C drive that data is now residing in D drive which is not formatted so even after formatting C drive that virus is still in my PC how to get out of it....Pls Help

Get a Mac and don't worry about it anymore.

I strongly recommend that you download a good anti virus program like AVG Free and do a full scan of the backup drive before using any of the files on it. A virus is also a file and therefore would have been copied over when you backed up your C Drive.

I strongly recommend you purchase antivirus / firewall / anti-spyware combo from a RELIABLE vendor like McAfee... properly configure it to scan for things like PuPs (potentially unwanted programs) and ensure it is automatically updating.

You will absolutely want to install this and update this on your computer before even thinking about moving back over data from the infected systems backed up files... and you should completely scan your D drive first before copying anything back over AND /OR before opening or running any of the files on the D drive.

Good Luck

Yes, the virus is a file so if you save the file it'll still be there. Get an anti-virus program. You can do a free antivirus scan at housecall.trendmicro.com.

Reinstall windows. Then, scan the D Drive for viruses(You may want to consider scanning the C Drive for viruses too). After viruses have been removed, you can restore the backup.
