Planning for bf's birthday?

Question

So, first of all my boyfriend is a is a big fan of George Strait, who is doing a concert at the MGM Grand in Vegas on February 2nd. (Boyfriend's birthday is March 2nd). We are long distance, he's in CA and I'm in AZ, but he's planning on staying with me in AZ for all of February, fortunately. So, I wanted to whisk him off to Vegas for the weekend because the concert is actually on a Saturday. I know it will be fairly pricey, so, I'm wondering if anyone has tips to make it as cheap as I can. Like what airlines/flights would be cheapest, and which hotels? Any help is greatly appreciated.

"Fairly pricey" - NO, it's going to be painful.

"Tips to make it as cheap as possible" - Book now, the longer you wait the worse the room rates will be.

I would drive up if I were you, and plan to stay at a hotel off of the strip.

Some ideas: 1. FOOD is a must - if the bf is hungry he won't be happy - pick his favourite restaurant / cuisine, make a reservation - if you can afford it, choose something pricier - if u are both the adventurous type, choose something exotic & new 2. ACTIVITY - what does he like to do? If there's a sports game / boxing match / concert / play (whatever his interest is in) that you can get tickets to, that's perfect - also can try something new / unusual together, whatever you have not done before: windsurfing, horseback riding, ziplining, skydiving, para-gliding etc. 3. GIFT Don't know how much time you have (or how much $ budget), you can get him something he really wanted. Or make him something special: one year I made my ex an album of really sexy pics I got a professional photographer to take. He went crazy over it. 4. *DESSERT* That's you! Get some pretty lingerie and package yourself for the end of the night. He should be happy =)
