Don't you think that responsible journalism is a rare & precious commodity quick being lost to us?

Yes I do. The tabloids in particular have been very irresponsible in their reporting of the McCann case, reporting speculation in continental newspapers as fact and encouraging ill informed debate.

As you say, 'responsible journalism is a rare & precious commodity', but many people on here would rather have the sensationalism for a bit of spice in their lives no matter what the cost.

The jucier the headlines the more papers they will sell , its a sad day for the innocent .. I am not saying the McCanns are guilty or innocent , i don`t know what to think anymore so i am sitting on the fence :)

most people can see what the media are doing , and yes i do feel that responsible journalism is over
so many news items have a hidden agenda

a newspaper is only interested in selling itself and the bigger the headline the more sales.............actual responsible news is lost inside the paper with the loan, porn, washing machine, debt release, computer and holiday adverts.
thats probably why i never buy one
