I work for a car dealership and I've also owned 7 Mustangs so I know what its like to run over things....I've got an 03 Cobra and I ran over something in the road recently, so I had one of our technicians put it on the alignment rack to check it out which is always a good idea. Also, I'd check the rear of the car...check around the gas tank in that area, even though the fuel pump is in the tank the wires themselves are exposed coming out of the top, and check the rear brake areas....those are places that can get knocked loose and u may not be able to tell right away. If u dented something on the front, if its mechanical that should be checked, if its just cosmetic i.e. the bumper or valance, i wouldnt worry much about it. But def. take it to someone familiar with those cars....the little nuances can come back to bite you. trust me...( :

Its probally nothing, I agree with the others but it really depends on how the 'change' affected your car. Did it affect the steering? Caused an oil leak? It usually depends on if the car was damaged enough to cause a problem. Trust me, I know cause I'm a mechanic. My advice is to just follow your gut feeling, or, if your dad has had some experience at being a mechanic, talk to him again and let him take a look at it if you must. If you have, then let him drive it once and explain how the car feels different.

first of all you have to take it to a washer or wash it your self if necessary, because the smell of rotten meat will soon get inside the car and believe me you don't want that.
after that take the car for a spin. . .leave the steering wheel and see if it skids or goes slightly left or right WITHOUT YOU STEERING.
if it does then you know you have something to fix... and don't take one mechanic or who is ever fixing you car for granted. . . take it to at least 3.
if they all agree on something then there you have it you are 100% sure about what to fix . . . that if you have a problem of course :)

I think it's a good idea to have a shop check it out, at least. You could always go in to get an estimate and then decide whether you want something to be done. As for your insurance, I don't think they will make your insurance rate go up if the total charge is less than the deductible, but you can ask them to make sure.

It sounds like the car is ok.
If you collect on insurance rates will go up some.
If anything I would get my front end alignment.
