My pc is your standard P4 and has one NIC, and I have a cable Comcast internet connection. I'm looking to add a redundant connection with DSL for automatic failover or even two full time connections, if that's at all possible. That way if one connection drops, I'll still have the internet access. Thank you so very much in advance!!!!!!!

Thats simple enpugh, you need a router that can handle load balancing between two seperate broadband connections. Not only will this give you redundancy but it will increase your overall internet bandwidth and make your surfing, gaming and downloading alot faster.
