...that we should move to Alaska? the hot, saguaro-strewn desert is no fun anymore, and moving out East will only delay or prohibit a move up North.
think of it....spectacular scenery/nature/wildlife. could be the only humans within many, many miles. build a cabin next to a lake somplace semi-remote (kids to think about there). hinking, exploring.
*sigh*
but her family is out east and she's very young. (i'm an old goat)

johnny awesome: i've just withdrawn $20 from your bank account, for using the hated 'lol' instead of 'haha' on my question.

Try a vacation up there first.
Moving from one extreme climate to another, can be a disaster.
Also think about asthma, and arthritis, previous broken joints, and anything else the cold weather will inflame.

Waiting for the bush pilots to bring food and supplies, doesn't sound all that great to me.
You also should remember that there are 13 men to each woman. I hope you wife loves you very much and wouldn't leave you for one of the other 12, if she figures out you tricked her she may just do that.

i live in Alaska and i wouldn't take my children out in the wilderness, considering the huge grizzly bears and moose, to be honest i can't wait to move. The winter's are too long and too cold, plus you can't even go swimming in the summer. I'd say move to Montana or something like that. Alaska is a great vacation spot, but not a great place to make your permanent home.

Good luck..It's going to take some work and serious professional help. I would send you Chris Angel or David Copperfield because I think only magic will get her to move to Alaska.

All I can say is that if my Lover wanted to move to the other side of the world, I would pack up and go in a heart beat. I trust his judgement and I know he would never expect me to stay in a place where I would be unhappy. As long as we are together, that's where home is. (oh yeah, that's my nickname for him, Lover.)

Oh man, the description you just gave, divorce her and marry me, I'll go with you. Just kidding. Ask her to try it for a year and if she doesn't like it, you'll move back to wherever she wants. Hopefully she'll love it after a year. Who wouldn't?

You and your family should vacation there to see if you really liked living in seclusion.

Remind her there are no state income taxes. In fact, they pay you to live there.
