I'm doing a stained glass project in my, well, stained glass class. I created a great design for a mermaid-mosaic, but considering it's a school project, I can't do a tasteful nude as I had anticipated. Does anyone have any ideas on how to cover her up?

Keep in mind, I'd like to stick to ocean-y elements, but I want to stay away from the overdone Disney clam shells.

You could put long hair across her breast, or a strategically placed arm, or both. Or, you could even go with a regular bikini top. There's no hard rule that says mermaids have to be topless.

Starfish...or maybe not, how about her hair going in front of it to hide her fun parts! This can cover her up and keep it looking interesting and not like a cartoon!

Starfish? Those silver dollar fossil looking things? A herd (?) of seahorses? Coral? Pearls? her hands? There are many different options, I think.

In art you can be real. So do it as it should be believed and not sensored.
