The Cleveland Indians deserve congratulations on a great performance in the alds, but all we here by the media is Torre is losing his job. The Yankees "dream season" ended to soon" etc. It's almost as if the writers are trying to stir up sympathy for the Yankees. I think they should be writing about Sizemore's great performance. Sabathia's solid outing. Shoppach's timely clutch hitting. Hafner's power hitting. But no, we'll get interviews of Jeter crying. Arod counting his millions Abreu counting his millions, Clemens at the hospital getting MRIs and counting his millions, and lots of other great individual contracts that make millions but can't make a team. What is it with this New York/Boston Bias that makes sports writers feel they can neglect the fans of the winning team? And by the way, for the record, I'm a Mariner fan. So I wasn't rooting for either team. But it was obvious to an outsider that even in the great Rockie's series, the writers were pulling for Philly.

The Yankees are the the equivalent of the Britney Spears in the sports world. The media loves to follow them and write about them just like the tabloids and celebrity pages. There is always drama. I am a Red Sox fan and I know my team gets recognition as well, but even when we play them or even when they were down by 17 at one point, the Yankees STILL were the lead on every story. They have tons of prima donna's on that team and one old fat who they brought back to save their year, but did nothing but suck their bank account. I hope they don't fire Joe Torre, because he is the only thing that is equal to the word "class" in that organization. I was always pulling for the Indians and I think this is going to be a great matchup. To evenly matched teams.

You bring up some good points. These reporters know what the fans are interested in, it is all about money and that is the story they go after. As sad as it sounds, the possibility of Torre being fired is of more interest than the Indians playing a great series against the Yankees. However, we can say it, what a great year for the Indians and their fans and good luck against the Red Sox.

Could not agree more. The Indians have been great all year and the Yankees haven't. Even the Red Sox are shoved aside for talk about the Yankees. I LIKE the Yankees but fair is fair: the Indians deserve to be better represented in the media.

I know, I see it every Cleveland win, they just stay mum about it. If it was the Yankees winning, it would be at the top of every news cast but someone said that TBS hates the thought of losing the New York audience to a bunch of nothing North Coast people and that's one of the reasons there's no big deal made about the Indians winning. I say we beat the Sox and leave the New York people to watching reruns of Friends.

I agree whole heartedly. I hate the Yankees so damn much. You can tell the TBS crew wanted the Yankees to pull this one out so bad. The Indians handled New York with no problems. New York is an overrated team with the most overrated player of all time. I will let you guess who that is.

Well I am a White Sox Fan First, Cubs fan second, and AL Central fan after that but....
What I saw Boston do to Anaheim made a believer out of me. I want Cleveland to win it all, really (It's good for the pride of the AL Central), but Boston is the TOTAL PACKAGE.

You make excellent points, and I agree with them. But you have to remember that like it or not, the media writes and reports what makes stories and money.......the New York Yankees.
What is more likely to garner your interest......"Indians win", or, "Yankees lose.....Torre on hot seat"....????
Get my point?
