after our meal at this place, we sat for quite awhile. being ever fascinated by the Human Animal, i've develped a habit of watching behaviors closely. without going into great detail, it was obvious one waitress was stealing tips off other's tables. she wasn't very sneaky, either...just lucky.
not my business, so i said nothing.
if i were a waiter, and my sh*t got ripped, i dont quite know how i'd handle it, except to say it'd get ugly. fast.

Well when my family steals from me, and believe me they they take anything that isn't nailed down I usually just steal it back from them at a later date. This works for me because I am a non-confrontational doormat. As for these poor servers there isn't much they can do except tattle and nobody likes a snitch or wait for this moron to get caught.

When I was a waitress the busboy "Crazy Pete" would steal peoples tips. I dont think he ever stole from me, because he knew my boyfriend, and was probably scared of him. So, in essence I dont know how to help you at all. Im perfect and no one has ever stolen from me.

I would of told her something and reminded her that what goes around comes around ten fold. then left the other girl a ten dollar tip (if you had it) but not on the table. that is why I like to give my tips to the person always or put it on the card.

I would have asked for the manager and told him/her, because most waitresses/waiters work hard and usually don't even make minimum wage because their tips are considered part of their salary. I would have told - and made it my business, lol.

How do you "know" it was theft? Since you are such a good observer, did you see the waitress give that tip money to the other waitress in a back room? Don't be so quick to judge. If you are sure it was theft, go inform the manager...if you don't, then you are a coward!

That's pretty dirty! I guess they think they're the only one who works hard and deserves a tip. If it was one of my tips she would be wearing a new fashion on her wrist: an embedded fork!!

Have a great night!!

I'd kill her, revive her ... then kill her again!!

Just kiddin'. I'd tell my boss and get him/her to put their money on a table .. sit back, and watch her take the bait. She'd either be fired, or taken into the office for a serious talkin' to. :)

I would have told on her just because she wasnt the one working those tables and she didnt deserve the tips.

I'd call him on it. Give him a chance to grow and change. Sometimes people don't want to become better at who they are. They just aren't capable. Walk away.

Oh my...tough question. Personally, I would tell the thief what I had witnessed, and then tell other servers. They would put the kabosh on her behavior pronto.
