Polygamy means a system of marriage whereby one person has more than one spouse. Polygamy can be of two types. One is polygyny where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man.

Well, Polygamy is far more common than polyandry.
But monogamy is more common than both combined.

um no. polygamy is when a man has man wives. woman can many husbands but thats polyandry. monogamy is having only one partner. both genders can be monogamous.

Yes men are natuarally polygamous. Which makes sense for polygamy to be allowed.

Men are naturally more polygamous than women, although both are capable of being polygamous and monogamous.
Men with multiple wives are far more common than women with multiple husbands (though it does happen in such places like Tibet).

i think both genders can be either monogamous or polygamous... your statement above is a product of the double standard of morality that the society sets acceptable for men and women...that is, its ok for men to play around and have more than one partner but its a taboo for women to do so...

I'm a polyamourous woman, (i.e. multiple partners and no marriage)... Plenty of women are poly, plenty of men are mono, it just depends on the person.
