People in our society always want to know, what is the right thing to do? What are you ultimately trying to achieve?

1. There is nothing like universal right and wrong, which are necessary like the categorical imperative of Kant. Right and wrong are relative, contextual and space time bounded. So it is Philosophically a blunter to speak of right and wrong as such.

2. what every one is trying to ultimately achieve is contentment, happiness and peace, whether or not one realises this.

Wait a minute: there are two questions here: What exaclty is "the right thing to do"? AND What are you ultimately trying to achieve?

I believe MEANING is ever open to debate and therefore we must take to heart this/its fragile condition.

What is the right thing to do? In what situation? Every situation requires a different approach. Sometimes I have to think fast, sometimes I have plenty of time to think about "the right thing to do". Sometimes I have to be satisfied with a solution that doesn't seem quite adequate, sometimes I find the perfect solution.

But I do know that I disagree with violent "solutions". For one reason, violence ends all debate, trumps reason, and enflames the Mob.

To heck with the majority. Go with what you really feel. Don't go with a quick emotional response, but with a true feeling. Do what YOU feel is the right thing to do. The majority is not always correct. Might does not make right. Sometimes it takes a free thinker to change things.

according to our society the right thing to do is decided by the majority. The funny thing about our society though is that the majority is lead by the rich minority. The "best" thing that can be achieved is for most people to be happy with the decision.

the question needs to be broken down.
The word "is" can be a very devastating case, because "is" states what we believe and accept as facts .
A fact meaning a scrap of knowledge that u will unconditional put Ur life in the hands of.
A parachute is not a fact it is reality because there might be a chance it will fail and u will plunge to Ur death.
A reality because real life being the only thing that can go wrong.
with this in mind ; what is the right thing to do , is what u feel non hostile to Ur well being.( and that goes as far as health , social life , health, dignity ,...etc)

i hope this helped.

I think that the right thing for you to do is to divest yourself of all possessions...and for your own spiritual development, send the $$$$$$$$$$ to me....
thus assuring your spiritual enlightenment
and
my retirement fund...

the right thing to do???
for you...NO
for me...Yes [ at least a qualified, maybe]

if it isn't clear...the "golden rule" is as good as any
and if it doen't apply, it probably doesn't matter
