I'm 37 weeks with frist baby. Have been on restricted activeity since week 26 because of funneling cervix at 2.5. Last week dr said I was 3 cm and fairly effaced. Baby has dropped. Have had a couple contractions seven minutes apart, on Saturday and nothing since. Does amyone know with the funneling does labor go faster?

Doesn't really affect it I don't think. A lot of women's cervix's funnel until they are effaced enough and in active labor, it's just how the cervix is responding. Don't worry about it - 3 cm's ia great place to start! Are you still on restricted activity at 37 weeks? You should be off of it now right? Congrats and good luck on the baby!

I was dialated to 3cm starting when I was 26 weeks pregnant with my second child. He was just ready to come. I was put to bed rest, and well I made it to 34 weeks. He's fine now, even though a bit early. I've had a lot of exp. with this, from family, and myself of course. Most doctors will keep you if your 4 cm, if your efaced ( I think thats spelled right) enough. But as far along as you are, and dialted this far I would ask your doctor on your next visit, only if your dialated to 4 if maybe he thought he could induce labor. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Just depends on your baby's weight development, your tests, and especially the baby. It will come when it is ready. I induced labor with my first son way to early at 39 weeks, and he fought it for 3 dang days. That was the most horrible labor I can imagine. Pros and cons. Good luck, and congratulations. Hope I helped at least a bit. I know that I could not wait. I counted the days. Trust me though when they get here, and grow up you'll wished you'd had 2 more days just pregnant. LOL

It might. That end of pregnancy, hour-to-hour stuff will drive you nuts. Try to relax as much as possible. It will happen when it happens, and a watched uterus never contracts ;)
