Voting is a human right.
I think of all the people locked in prison because of their beliefs or murdered for trying to stand up for what they believe in and it makes the simple act of voting seem much more important.
We are blessed to be able to choose, and I think it is disrespectful to those who cannot to not cast a vote on election day.

To vote is the only weapon remaining in the citizen to choose a leader. Thus, exercise the right to vote.

because if we only get our names ticked of and don't fill out our own preferences than our vote goes to the party that is in power automatically. we only get one chance every 4 years to vote so don't just give your only chance to make a difference away. so have a think about it and make every vote count.

I vote to cancel out my husband's foolish, irresponsible vote.
No. Seriously, we vote so that (hopefully) our favorite candidate wins, and we all hope he/she will accomplish what they claim to try to do. It might seem like an exercise in futile optimism, but at least we get to say "Bush is an idiot, but I didn't vote for him. You can't blame it on me!" If I hadn't voted, I'd feel responsible for not voting against him.
Understand?

I vote because it is my civic duty. Too many have sacrificed for me not to be a responsible, informed voter. Plus, if I don't vote, I have no right to complain.

Easy, I vote because if I don't I don't feel right complaining about the idiocy of the politicians.
