How do i remove a relay on my 98 malibu. it seems that something is holding it in place and i cant seem to find how.
by the way the relay iam trying to remove are located in the front of the driver side

It depends which relay you are trying to remove. If it is one of the 30a square ones, you should be able to wiggle that one free, but if it is inside the power distribution box, you might find there are screws going through the prongs underneath to hold the relay in place.

Generally the relays are held in by a piece of metal that acts like a spring to hold onto the back of the relay. What you have to do is get behind the relay and pry the spring away from the relay which will release it and it will slide up over the metal frame. When you re-install the relay, just bend the metal back so it will hold in place again. These are not very strong so being gentle here will help.

pull hard on it and try it wiggle it out those things have many prongs on them and may be corroded.....never pry on it with a screwdriver or anything metal you may short something out if you create a spark

Pull it/pry it out. It's just stuck.
