Many feel that we only have one life to live and it is a precious gift, to commit suicide is a wasteful act. In the case of trying to avoid justice, money troubles or just being depressed, i understand but feel anything can be overcome or dealt with. However, I have a chronic illness which will in the end cause me much pain, illness and tremendous discomfort. There is no cure. I do not wish to live the last of my days hooked to machinery, living on morphine and feeding tubes. I do not wish to leave my family with debt to hospitals and drug company's. I wish to die with dignity, I wish to leave my family with memories of my life, not my misery and pain and suffering. In the end, I will be at home and will simply go to sleep and not wake up, how could that be wrong. Right now I am strong, healthy and capable of clear thinking, it is not wrong to wish to leave this place in dignity. So, I guess it is a situational thing. I guess it really comes down to your own personal beliefs. We all must die, when and how is a mystery. Maybe some are just jealous because they fear death and others have embraced it. I just dont want to suffer in the end...

I think it's wrong to commit suicide. Actually, I think it's really, really, really wrong. Some people wanted to actually live a longer life, but couldn't because of an illness, wanted a longer life, and here somebody is, taken his/her own life because there is something wrong with their life. Suicide is never the answer to anything that would go wrong. Sure, if you're being commited to life prison and all, you are still living your life. What would that person's family feel? The person's best friends or boyfriend/girlfriend? I hope nobody would commit suicide in this world, doing such a selfish thing taking their own life, but alas, you can only wish.

I think that people have the right to decide that they want to die if they have a terminal illness and there is no hope for recovery. I think that suicide in any other circumstances is selfish and a way to get out of a temporary situation and I been fighting depression for over 40 years. I've wanted to commit suicide but I would never leave my family with the what ifs and the whys that would be left. Also the children of people who commit suicide are more likely to also commit suicide and that's not a legacy that I want to leave my children.

Suicide really can only be judged by the person committing it. It's all a matter of opinion. Now, of course, in Eastern countries however, there is "seppuku" which is a painful suicide used as punishment or as an alternative of dying in an enemy's hands and would be more acceptable than traditional suicide.

If you are asking, It is a thought. The thought comes from circumstances. The circumstances are personal, but they cause pain and suffering.
Right??????
Well then, now is the time, and yes it is right. I do not know if you believe in God, but he gave us free will. That means the freedom to choose.
We as Humans have the freedom to choose what we do with our life.
So........ If this is really the only answer, If you have tried all alternatives, If the situation is hopeless, then GO FOR IT.
Love you.
Dave
PS.... If there are alternative choices, then please pursue them.
Dave
