About six years ago I visited an old middle school in South Dakota, with a self proclaimed ghost-hunter. When we entered the basement, the paint which was supposed to be old seemed relatively new, and the shelves in the storage room were wildly warped. There were little "pockets" in the basement where the air seemed stale or even lacking, and the principal later came down and told us a janitor hung himself down there many years ago. Kinda freaky, especially when I sensed someone nearby but couldn't see them. That's the closest I've come to in regards to a "haunted house", methinks....

Yes, a 200 + year old house. It was very nice, even charming, as giant old houses can be, but if you were alone anywhere, you began feeling as if the room was slanted and you were losing your balance-in any room. You'd suddenly feel like you had no air, or the room would go freezing. There were unexplainable noises of furniture being dragged on an empty. locked floor above. There had been at least two murders committed in that house. And more than one family member had gone insane there. It's in Southwest Vermont, and I wonder if it inspired Shirley Jackson!

I was sitting on a couch, and a shadow passed over me, as if someone had walked behind me and blocked out the light from the lamp as they moved.

A few seconds later, I realized that I was the only one in the house. I spent half an hour checking every closet, underneath every bed, looking in every room.
All the doors were locked; so were the windows. Nobody could've have gotten in or out without me noticing.
And the lamp didn't flicker or go dim or anything ... it was a clearly defined shadow of ... something ... that moved along the length of the couch behind me.

1. There are no aliens to enter our space, so it's not a problem. 2. The Shuttle enters the Earth's space without burning up, so it can be done. Why would you think it can't be?

The house where one of my daughter-in-laws grew up is strange.
I get an uneasy feeling while visiting there.
Her adopted parents and youngest brother stay there.
I thought it was just me until my oldest daughter was talking about a "strange feeling she had" about the house.
Then our youngest son also made a comment on a separate occasion when we weren't around.
Terrible things happened to this daughter-in-law after she was adopted. It is as if it still remains in the house. I don't even like sitting in the living room.

It's kinda wierd when you get a senses like that. You almost feel somebody is in the room with you. I have woken up on a few different nights and could swear somebody was standing next to my bed. On one occasion I leaped out at it thinking someone had broken into my apartment. I know it was my eyes playing tricks on me but talk about freaky.

Something tried to get me in a motel room in New Orleans one time but there was no initial feeling of "wrongness" when I entered the room. I did find another motel to stay at that night!

Yes. Looking through a house that was for sale years ago, with family members and a friend , and we all agreed-- there was something just not 'right' about that place. ALL of us felt it. Weirdest thing I've ever experienced.

Yes....My sister in-law had her daughter baptised and I didn't like the church and couldn't bring myself to go in. They tried to talk me into going in and I said It didn't feel right and wouldn't be attending the ceremony.
I had nightmares for a very long time and still do every now and then.
