My husband and I are going camping tomorrow and were thinking since we would have time, maybe we could play cards. However, we do not know of many card games we could play with a standard deck of cards. All I know to play is war - it is pathetic. What are some good and simple games we could play to keep us occupied?

I vote for cribbage also, we all learned this as kids and played with family members. Dad always said it was the best two person game ever invented. Great for kids as it helps with thinking and a little with arithmetic. Can also be played with various numbers of players. Four handed is great also, three handed not quite as good.

You need a cribbage board and u can get a satisfactory one at Walmart.

How about buying a backgammon set or Battleship game? Fun for two players.

The best two player card games (In my opinion) are

Cribbage - http://www.pagat.com/adders/cribbage.html
German Whist - http://www.pagat.com/whist/german_whist.html
Gin Rummy - http://www.pagat.com/rummy/ginrummy.html
Piquet - http://www.pagat.com/notrump/piquet.html (uses a 32 card deck, 7-A in each suit)

Have fun!
