she had none; though in her lifetime there was a rumor or 2 floating around that she had a child by Robert (Robin) Dudley named Arthur Dudley. On the other hand, there were also rumors at the time that she was formed in such a way that she could not bear children at all.
Never married, maintained the appearance of virginity all her life, no matter what (unprovable) scandals popped up; also no doubt she loved her Robin, but no evidence that it was a physical love. I tend to fall on the side of believing she was a virgin (why DO people have a hard time believing a woman can do that, and be all right with it?).
And yes, after her death, the crown passed to her cousin's son James, as the senior surviving heir, since there were no heirs of Elizabeth's body.

Queen Elizabeth I had no children. She was the last monarch to rule from the House of Tudor Dynasty and died in 1603. She passed on the crown to her nephew King James 1 of England (King James VI of Scotland).
Although during Queen Elizabeth II later years, she was called "The Virgin Queen." She was not definitely a virgin. This was all a propaganda to settle the confrontations between the Protestants and the Catholics. Queen Elizabeth I was a conservative protestant, and she believed that the only way to establish peace between the two religions is to make herself appear as the "Virgin Mary" figure." The Parliament believed that this strategy will somehow ease the Catholics resentment towards Protestants and see that both religions share the same beliefs to a certain degree. It is only a symbol rather than a reality. The queen was probably not a virgin, and it was widely known that she and Robert Dudley were true lovers. She died on March 24,1603 with a love letter from Robert Dudley in her hands.
