Open it up and clean the three wheels with a butter knife to get the stuff off! You might need a Q-Tip and some alcohol and tweezers! Also, wash the roller ball with some hot, soapy water then dry thoroughly! Put it back in and close it back up!

Do you happen to be using a wireless mouse that has a battery in it? If so, you may want to try changing the battery, just to be sure you're using a new one. If it's not a battery powered mouse, then perhaps you should adjust your mouse settings. If you would like to do so, you should go to the Control Panel and then to the section called Mouse or something similar to that. From there, you can adjust your mouse settings. Good luck and I hope I helped you!

I bet you have a cordless mouse, right? If so, it's too close to other electronics, and it's signal is being disrupted.

Or... do you have another device that's used to control the cursor? For example: I have a Wacom Tablet that I draw with. My cursor will jump around every once in a while, and 100% of the time it's because I left the pen sitting on the tablet.

Sounds like you have to clean your mouse out. Flip it over and open up the little roller wheel. With a Q-tip scrape out all the ickyness.

The ball is probably loose or dirty. Turn the mouse over and see if that's the problem.
