I can't understand why the embargo on Cuba isn't lifted now? Cuba is a small nation that isn't a threat to anyone. Many americans want this embargo lifted, this issue should be left to the voters to decide once and for all,the embargo has been in place now for over 46 years and hasen't accomplished anything.
There is no embargo on Vietnam, a nation the USA went to war with that cost over 57,000 american lives. There are some who will say that Cuba is not a democracy well neither is China,Vietnam,Saudi Arabia or Kuwait (no embargos on any of them).
In Kuwait a man can have more than one wife and slavery is still legal, yet there is no embargo on that country.
In 1972 President Richard Nixon went to china to open relations with that country, why can't President Bush do the same thing with Cuba today?Does anyone else agree?

I agree with you that keeping an embargo on Cuba is useless. But until Castro is dead the embargo will remain in place. Since GWB thinks he is God he does as he pleases. Look at his popularity and the numbers of Americans who feel we should get out of Iraq. But, GWB doesn't care what the American people want, or even to save his party.

Nice try everyone. The number of Cubans in Florida that hate Castro give the embargo the political power of the entire state. Neither Republican nor Democrat would vote to end the embargo.

I agree. If anything it is Cuba who should have an embargo against us, after all it was the U.S. who tried to overthrow their gov. not the other way around. But I disagree with the fact that it isn't a threat, it may be small but it has some big friends who the U.S. is on fragile terms with.

I personally don't care. It's not like they have anything we want except maybe cigars, and even then the novelty will wear off soon.

Oh that's right- the Corleone family still owns property there- that ought to be interesting.

American foreign policy is solely up to the president. And he don't like Castro as much as you commucrats do.
