Mine have always been Field of Dreams, League of their Own, Angels in the Outfield, and 61*. I just saw Pride of the Yankees (Lou Gehrig story) and it is now on the list. What are your favorites?

Jackson, I haven't seen "For the love of the Game". I will have to make a point to see it. Thanks.

So, guys...that is 3 baseball movies Kevin Costner has been in that I know...Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, and For Love of the Game. Wow...anyone know of anyone played the lead in any more than that?

You guys keep mentioning more great movies I had forgotten on my list. I love Sandlot (I even have it!) and the Major League Movies and Rookie of the Year because it features my Cubbies!

"Eight Men Out". Hands down the best sports movie of all time!
"Field Of Dreams" might have been good had Costner not been in it and it was closer to the book "Shoeless Joe Jackson" by H.P. Kinsella that it was taken from.
"Bull Durham" was great despite Costner.

"Field of Dreams" is number one, as far as I'm concerned. It takes on a little extra when you go and visit the field in Dyersville, Iowa. That's an incredibly fun trip!

Close behind that is "The Sandlot." Hard not to love it.

I also enjoyed "Rookie of the Year." Just straight-up fun.

"Pride of the Yankees" is great and 61* is a fine film, too. Now for fun, try to get a hold of "It Happens Every Spring", a great funny film made in 1949 about a college professor who invents a substance that repells wood - he's a baseball nut and you can figure out the rest!
