I've posted this before, would like to get more insight. Please read..I've filed for child support and am deciding even though I told him to file since it's what he wanted to maybe take the initiative to file because he hasn't handled his business in the past...made other wives file so all he had to do was sign. We were married in California a community property state. I want to try to get the house and at least half of everything...me and the kids have a right to it. He thinks he can just do whatever, I need to let him know I am not playing games.

Mature and serious answers please. This is a very crucial and important decision I have to make, Dec. 9 is when I'll be able to file. I would love to have my marriage completely restored, and I will pray that if it's not God's will for this divorce to go through he will intervene.

First, it is not your fault that he chose to end the marriage, which he did. It does not matter who actually files, he is the one who has ended it.

Secondly, regardless of what anyone thinks, if the law says you can get it (and you feel you deserve it) then do it. I've seen women take everything when they didn't deserve it, and I think it's wrong. However, I have also seen women, who clearly devoted their lives to their families, leave with very little.

Asking for a home for your children and half of what you helped him get is not unreasonable. Asking for child support for your children is not unreasonable. He helped make them, after all. I would make absolutely sure that my interests and, more importantly, those of my children were protected because in my experience, he won't.

It for sure does indeed sound like a soap opera... why are you still there. Here hon are the four things my mom hammered into my head beginning when I was 13. You've screwed up your life pretty good if these are any indication. If you had been my sister, you wouldn't have ever, ever ever made these mistakes...

1. The most important decision you will ever make is who you marry. Choose with your head as well as your heart. (oops... what EVER were you thinking to marry such a guy?)
2. Have no children until your bond is strong, and have no more than you yourself can support. You may just have to. (get back into school, hon.)
3. At any and all costs finish your education to qualify for those high paying jobs. It is likely that you will work sometime during your marriage, probably for decades…. Get paid for it. And remember, your kids and your education are forever…. Husbands, lovers and promises are not!!
4. Have a stash of cash no one knows about even if you are sure you will never need it. You absolutely will, and the more the better.

You say "wives?". How many has this guy married? And just how many children has he put on this planet. I won't call him a father.... more like a sperm donor to all of them. Sorry for you all, hon, as I said, if you had been my sister, this wouldn't have been your life.

God has nothing to do with it, dingy.
Get a proven attorney, and you'll recieve half of everything. The child support will follow. Smart women get this one right on the first try.
