Can you imagine!? It would be the most amazing powerplay unit the NHL has ever seen, Although the penguins already are dealing with future potential problems. Signing staal, whitney, malkin, christensen, ma fluery, soon NHLers esposito and letang and who am i forgetting... oh yea sid. Signing half of these players to long term deals will be difficult, and you know they will plan first with sid, malkin, fleury, whitney and staal. Alex doesn't seem to fit! Wish he did tho. wish he did. The next oilers of the 80s.

Well you guys have not been listening to Ovechkin talk. Not only has he said he is most definitely NOT going to leave Washington, you have to remember that he and Malkin are the best of friends. Crosby is an over rated whining media hog. Without Malkin Pittsburgh would have almost nothing. If anything I see Malkin going to DC to be buddy team mates with Ovechkin. On top of that you have Big Daddy Ted Leonsis with unlimited cash flow and political pull and soon enough he will be acting like Dan Snyder and the Redskins and using that influence to his advantage.

Wouldn't Ovechkin's next contract put Pittsburgh over the salary cap?

I'm a Penguins fan and will promise you Shero isn't that dumb. Come on they would be giving up their first round pick EVEN AFTER Ocenchik retired. I think the only people who would think that is a good deal is the fans of the Capitals, they know they probably will lose him in Restricted Free Agency.

I would like to see them on the same line. Have Ovechkin outscore him on his own team and see what the media hype does to that. Not your golden boy anymore. Give Ovechkin some kind of attention for all that he has done! Awesome Kid.

I don't like picking out other people's mistakes, but, didn't you mean dealt to Toronto?
Now that makes sense, since JFJ would be doing his best to get rid of those picks anyway, might as well get over and done with all at once.

If Ovechkin is available to be dealt, I think he should be dealt to Chicago

Why? He isn't even worth one first round pick.
I like my team the way it is, I wouldn't want Ovechkin no matter how cheap he came.

Knowing how utterly strong the Penguins would be after making the trade, I don't think Washington or any respectable team would do that.
