I have been having some financial problems lately. While I can afford to pay for my bills and rent I don't have any money left over for anything other then bills. Well a friend of mine is also having financial problems and they have a 3 bedroom home with just them there they offered me a room in their home and we split all the bills. The problem is I am not sure if its a good idea for me to move in with them. They are a couple and I am use to being independent. What would you do. Do you think it would be smart for me to move in with a couple and would you consider doing something like this as a way to save money?

I wouldn't do it. For one, it will possibly jeopardize your relationship with them. Two- like you said, you're use to being independent. You'll have to live by a new set of house rules that you might think are bogus. Another thing you should take into consideration is what if the guy starts to build an attraction to you; then your friend may start resenting you. Here's some VERY important advise: Money isn't the world. If you're barely getting by on what you have, maybe you should consider getting rid of some of your expenses to save money. In the mean time, unless you're happy with your job, maybe you should try looking for another better paying job, or a side job (like cleaning houses).

Whatever you do, try to hold off on rooming with your friends...friendship is far more precious than a few extra bucks in your pocket! :)

Hope this helps!!

I would consider doing that as a way to save money. You can still be independant. Work it as "renting a room" from them. I wouldn't go for the splitting the bills thing as there are two of them and one of you. Just come to an agreement about how much the room is worth and pay them that every month. That way both you and them can figure out if this will be beneficial to all of you.
