You're growing up and going through different experiences. It takes a long time for most people to "find themself". Being nervous about school is normal too. Don't stress too much about not being yourself... you're changing, and everyone around you is changing too, whether you see it or not. Enjoy being 23, focus on the important things in your life, and be happy. :)

You might need a change. School will provide that change. You could be just anxious about that. This anxiety isn't permanent. Take your mind off your worries by occupying your time with something in the meantime. Read a bunch of books and spend all your time doing that or start working out, go to the gym... something you always wanted to do, but were too scared to do it, or just never got around to it. See what happens.

You sound fine to me. Maybe you're just going through a passing phase of Insecurity- brought on by the fact that you're more AWARE of things in your life now that you're older. You should be alright once you get back into the "swing of things" at school... The "difference" between being 17 & 23- is a LOT more than 6 "years..."! Good luck at College! :)

Dear, nothing is "wrong" with you. Just be yourself. If you feel chatty, fine, if you feel more quiet, fine too.

People go through different periods in life where they feel different ways. Sometimes we are more confident and talkitive, sometimes, we are more shy and quiet. All depends on the situation and how you feel at the time.

Based on my experience, (I'm 30), when I was younger, I was very very shy, quiet. Nowadays, I am super assertive and I talk alot more. I feel good with myself and I talk to people in a way I would never have done several years ago.

Don't worry about it. If you feel like talking, do, if not; just don't. If people say something to you, just say, "I like to listen", or if someone asks you an obnoxious question you don't want to answer, smile and say, "why do you want to know"?

Hope this helps.

anxiety and it can come on at any time. i am so shy that sometimes it is dibilitation but as you can see online, i am a social butterfly who will give it to yu straight. a few drinks though and i might be fine. but alcohol is not good and for you try some PAxil. some pills can help with a level of anxiety now wether it is depression that's another thing. if your moody, sad, and your doing things you wouldn't normally do, or crying, anger, and eating and drinking a lot and doing drugs and getting into fights and or sleeping a lot...that is some depression...so keep a journal and then maybe it's time to talk to your parents or a conselor.

The process of growing up and maturity has a price, perhaps what you were before you don't like anymore that you are acting different, as well all changes or unknown makes us feel nervous, that is normal.

It could be nothing. Just in case you should talk to your doctor for a physical or just talk.

Sometimes, studing to hard or not getting enough rest or you feel, you need to impress you friends, or your proffessor, can problems, too!

Other than that... you'r at the time in your life when you will change many times. Be more concerned, when you stop!

Good Luck!

You are stuck in a rut! Or you are maturing, it happens to most everybody! Let me tell you it doesn't get any better the older you get. Soon you will be so numb, nothing will surprise you anymore! Bills, responsibility, fear of the future & the state of things in the world can get the best of you. Please relax and try to enjoy it now while you still can!
