Library of movies in NAS - best way to watch them in my tv?

Not quite sure what the best middle hardware... appletv, tivo, else? And the NAS isnt a media player just the simple type.

There are NAS devices with media servers (ex. Media Vault from HP). If the NAS has no mediaserver you do need a PC in between.

Mount the NAS as a drive on your PC
Use WMP11 or any other 3-part media server as your media server.
Use an xbox or a digital media receiver (Linksys, netgear, etc.) to stream content to your TV over your home network.

HP has a Mediasmart TV that has built-in media receiver functionality.
