Can you wear a tampon the whole school day (8-3:15 pm) without changing it? I heard something about the toxic shock syndrome? Or something like that? Or was it just that one kind of tampon?

There is something called Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) It is a rare but deadly disease. The only way you can get it is if you where a tampon for more than eight hours I normaly change mine before that because I would leak if I didnt change it. But I suggest that you should change it at least once while your in school.

You can wear a tampon up to 8 hours. But you also need to wear a lowest absorbancy tampon you can. It's best to change it every 4 hours or so.

It is safer to change it more often than that. Toxic shock can occur with different types of tampons.

Change more often. Not only could TSS become an issue, but other infections, and not to mention leaking and smelling. Take some extras with you, and don't go more than 4-5 hours in between changing them.

well i use to in highschool sometimes b/c either i would forget a tampon and didn't worry about it or i just never really thought about changing and i'm not heavy bleeder, but now that i'm a little bit older, i take it more seriously and i don't leave it in for more than 6 hours. my advice is changing at least once.

It's says that, and most professionals will tell you not to wear it that long just to be safe... but I've worn it for that long and have been fine. I've actually (I know this is bad) but I've wore it a whole day before without changing it and I was fine. I'm deffiantly not encouraging wearing it for long but I think as long as your bleeding and its not really a 'light' period that you'll be fine through out your school day.

i wouldn't toxic shock syndrom isn't something you wanna get. it can be really really bad and i think some people have died (i could be wrong about that)

It's all brands. You should change them every 4-6 hours.

You can but you don't want a leak or nothing like that. It's not recommended that you wear them that long. I have in the past sometimes and nothing happened to me.

i have worn a tampon that long PLENTY of times. you WONT get TSS. but its not necessarily a good/sanitary thing to do. it might start to leak or smell so be careful.
