I am currently mad at the american government and was wondering if i should put an american flag patch on my back pack upside down. would it be disrespectful? Would i be pulled in to the high school principals office. Would this be a good way to show my ways of belief about the president?
any help is apreciated.

You sound young and it's good you have such passion for politics and current issues but disrespecting your flag isn't the way to go.

You should take that negative energy and use it in a positive way. Maybe you could join a group at school that tackle the issues that are making you mad. Even if you are too young to vote there are still other ways you can be involved in your municipal, state and federal politics. Keep yourself educated and informed on the issues and get your friends involved.

Disrespecting such a sacred symbol of your country is not the answer and you will regret it. Remember that many people have fought and died-whether right or wrong-for that flag and it would be such a slap in the face to all those people that sacrificed their physical and mental health to see it disrespected like that. You can only make yourself trouble by doing this and nothing positive will come of it.

You may be justified for feeling the way you do, but sewing your flag upside down isn't the answer.

An upside down flag is a signal of distress. It was meant to be a cry for help. I suppose you can extend that view to describe the current political climate of the country. I put my American flag postage stamps upside down on my mail.
Your school is a whole different story. You have no "freedom of speech" in school pal, so, unless you want to make the news, or your principal is realistic, you may want to think twice.

To be honest, youd probably get your butt kicked or your back pack stolen and/or burned.

Becuase you hate this president doenst mean you hate this country.
And for you to insult this country would bring upon repercussions from other people -- Im quite sure of it.

Your best bet would create yourself signs or patches that show your unsupport for Bush.
Not the hole country.

And if you really want to turn a negative into a positive....and really get back at the republicans -- start voting awareness drives.
Or start by helping out some orgnaizations like democratic party, or your favorite candidates.

It is a sign of distress, not a sign of protest. You might be better off embrodering the words "I am ashamed of my President" above the flag or "Not my fault that I was born here."

You'll probably get in trouble
It's kind of a symbol, showing how America's face value has flipped upside down

It is also an expression of discontent with the country

Now, if you really wanna show your lack of support
burn that flag, burn it good

Use your freedom of speech however you see fit.

People will give you $hit for it, but you are within your rights.

Stand up for what you believe.
