I know a lot of you have been to the KY horse park and visited with John Henry. Sadly he died about 4 hours ago.

top horse,a legend and he had a good innings.horses like him make peoples lives and sadly they don't come around very often.he had what a lot think they have --loads of class.

Yeah.....I'd been following the reports on him. To be honest, and not to sound morbid or anything, I'm suprised the grand old guy has hung around this long. I saw him last summer and thought he looked terribly thin and weary. But....he was 31 at the time too. But he lived a great pampered life. Few OTTB geldings have it so good.

Thought I e- mailed article, from drf(Daily Rac Form).Don't know where it went. Not here, so, the article stated,that he was put down due,to "Old Age Issues". He was 32, which is really up there for a horse. I'm sure u know u can go to DRF.com and see the article.

He was an amazing horse, its sad to see him go. I saw him lots of times at the horse park. It's nice to know that he had a good life until the end. Kudos to all that gave him that good life.

I am in Mississippi and studied in Lexington. I have seen JH several times. I am sorry to hear of his passing-he was a good horse and made a lot of people happy.

A absolute legend who had a incredible life! Very sad to here but that boy had a GREAT life. I wish all were taken care of as good as he was. We breed them, and we need to be resposible for them. R.I.P. hero

Thanks for the heads up. He was a great horse, visited him a few years ago. What a great horse. Sad way to start a morning though.
