I have an old Windows 2000 touchscreen laptop with no disc drive and only and external floppy drive. I really want to install the new version of Ubuntu coming out soon on it to try out the 3d effects with a touchscreen. *Sniff* iTunes cover flow doesn't work....

It is possible to install Linux from a flash drive, a network or from the Internet. Now, I will leave it to you to figure out if it is possible with Ubuntu, and with the hardware that you have. www.google.com would be a good place to start!

Since Ubuntu isn't small enough to run from a floppy, that's not possible.

If it has a CD-Rom drive you can run the demo version from the CD-Rom drive.
