They're not afraid of her. They just can't counter her intelligently. You hardly ever hear a conservative explain one of Hillary's ideas fairly and clearly, and then explain why he opposes it. Instead they call her names like 'socialist'. I think most conservatives don't really understand what 'socialist' means, but they know it's something bad so Hillary must be one.
Hillary is the 'scariest' Democratic candidate, partly because she's a woman, partly because she's a Clinton. I really think the Republicans WANT her to get the nomination because she's the easiest to smear. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that they have been secretly funneling money into her campaign because they think she'll be easy to beat in November. They have been caught doing this before--secretly financing a candidate in the primaries that can be more easily beat in the general election. This would explain why both the Republicans and the major media consider her the 'presumptive' candidate.
But I don't think it will work. Imagine a debate between Hillary and Fred Thompson! She would put him away in a minute! She'd make him look like the doddering old fool that he is. Similarly Rudy Giuliani, if he gets that far. None of the other Republicans are even really in the running. This is going to be a 'rebuilding year' for the GOP.

There's a few reasons, but the main one is that her last name is Clinton and that last name translates to Satan for them. It's ridiculous. They call her everything from a socialist (most of them couldn't identify a real socialist if their lives depended on it) to a lesbian. She is a moderate Democrat who is an old fashioned capitalist from way back. But that's reality, and it's something they don't like much when it comes to Hillary. They're afraid of her because her support is climbing steadily despite their smear efforts and they don't have a candidate that can beat her.
They suggest if she becomes President we'll shortly be building a statue of Karl Marx in Washington D.C. As though she could change our democratic republic to a socialist state without the consent of Congress even if she had such designs - which of course she doesn't. The stronger she gets the more hysterical they get. It used to be annoying. Now the questions about her are getting so ludicrous it's becoming funny, and more than a little pathetic.

Hillary will make a great President! She's done such a fantastic job as senator from New York that her credentials speak for themselves!
Why, when she was just the lowly wife of Bill Clinton, she almost was able to institute health care reform. Imagine if she was President! And as far as New York goes, well, forgettaboutit! We're booming here thanks to her! Glad we elected her! Twice! And we don't even mind she's from Arkansas! Hell, she bought a house here, and I think she's even been there once or twice. And we don't mind a bit that we're supporting her financially while she makes her run for President! She must have come back to the state two, maybe three times since she started campaigning! But when the primaries come here, well, we'll see a lot of her then!
Time for the disclaimer: That was all sarcasm. She's a manipulative person who only wants the power and will say anything to get elected. She's done absolutely nothing and there's no reason to believe she'll accomplish anything if she gets elected.
By the way, I'm not a conservative. but I do understand why the right-wing "fears" her. She'll raise taxes (like her husband did) she won't keep any of her promises, and, ultimately, she's only doing it for the power.

If you DON'T fear her getting into power :
1. demand the money you paid for Remedial Civics/Special Needs classes be refunded...you didn't learn anything.
2. The drivel she spews should be put on CD's that could be donated to crack rehab centers to show patients what happens when you do drugs or are liberal
3. If you really have no need for a lot of your take home pay, give it to me. I'll use it better than her whacko social programs will.

I can't speak for anyone but myself. I certainly don't think I'm "so hysterically afraid of Hillary R. Clinton" but based on her past actions, I definitely have concerns about her ability to lead the country.
Tell me please, why you don't feel I'm entitled to my opinion? Even if the only reason I don't like her is because of her hair cut or the way she talks, so what? (That's not it - see above) Isn't that my right?
Edit - I certainly hope you're not one who condemns Romney for being a "flip-flopper" - Hillary changes positions so often I don't know how she keeps up with it all.

And you are how old? Were you old enough to know what the Clinton years were like? You appear to have zero knowledge of her politics and agenda. Trust me, unless you are of the lazy who have been on the government handouts for untold generations, that woman is pure death to anyone with any sense of what freedom is all about. I do not relish the idea of my hard earned money going to others who are to lazy to get a job, much less take proper care of their health. Under her, and her cronies ideas, you'd be surprised to find out just how rich a middle class worker can become. The drivel about only those who make $250,000 or more will be taxed to pay for her national health care system, is just that drivel. Do a poll of those who make at least $250,000 a year from the IRS. They can at least supply a number to you of how many there are. Count on it, there are not enough to pay the multi-billion dollar cost of her health care plan. So where does the money come from, you and me, and people like us. Think that can't be, do the math. If there are not enough in the $250,000 class now, where are they going to come from. Socialist comrade Hillary will certainly provide you with the answer, to your woe. She is also rabidly against the ownership by the people of any kind of weapon. According to her, those who own guns are the ONLY source for the armament of the terrorists. While up front that sounds ludicrous, but think about it. What has she not said. It isn't far off the mark, if not dead on it that to her, any person who owns a weapon is a terrorist. That means that every weapon sold at any store is going to a terrorist. Need I say more about why right wing citizens are against comrade Hillary?

My whole problem with Hilary is that she has no qualifications to be President. So she is a 1st term US senator for a state she never resided and never held any public office before state, county or city in Arkansas. She is further left than closer to being a SOCIALIST

It's pathetic really. All these big, bad conservative men are afraid of one little girl.
But the reality is, they are afraid of Bill Clinton. He got the best of them and they know it. Not many of the dems have been able to do that.

Hillary is a socialist and will destroy the country.
Proof:
Her call for "shared responsibility" and universal healthcare that we would be forced to enroll in.
