You pull your e(mergency) brake with your hand...

It is spelled BRAKE. The e-brake and the hand brake are actually the same thing. Some cars have the e-brake located between the seats and operated by hand others used to have the handle under the dash also operated by hand. That is where the hand brake name came from. Later, it was moved to the floor area and foot operated, since you can put more pressure on the device with your foot instead of your hand.

Although it is commonly called a hand brake, it really is supposed to be called the emergency brake.

good luck

Everyone is right.

Emergency Brake (E-Brake) is commonly referred to as hand brake because it is operated with hands, although it originates from a motorcycle brake handle.

None. The emergency brake is operated by hand (or foot) for parking purposes.

the hand brake clamps the calliper in the front wheels and the e- brake locks both the front and the rear wheels. it has a double chambers which snugly hold the calliper in place. although they differ in name or even the the way they appear, they both share the same duties....... to hold the vehicle and keep it from slipping trough.

emergency break is used to control the movement of your car when you're in a traffic jam or red light. it is the lever near the right side of your driver's seat. handbreak is a "misnomer," though, it is commonly managed by hand - handbreak is the proper term used for bicycle operation.
