I find it amazing that Neo-cons are able to rationalize their lack of service or service is REMF units.

Here he is again, the only troll on Y/A who has had over 20 ID's suspended. He's a deluded joke from Yuma, AZ and a bit of a one trick pony. He has asked this same question under several ID's about 200 times. I'd be shocked if he ever served in the military at all, all I know is that he will email me with a barrage of junior high insults. The guy's got some serious issues.

Neither necessarily, though it would be more courageous to do so.

The same question could be asked of those who supported civil rights in the 60's but stayed in the north rather than travel to demonstrations to get beat up by cops in the south. The answer would be the same.

I believe in free government provided health care, but I haven't gotten a degree in Nursing or the like so I can provide free care (well, I was on a volunteer ambulance corps once, but that wasn't quite the same thing).

I guess I just don't like calling people hypocrites. Maybe because I know I do some things that are hypocritical and don't like being called a hypocrite. I believe in speed limits but don't always obey them for example.

I think you are going to need to offer reasons, not names, for people to join you in opposing the war.

Get all the chiefs to go to war & lets watch them get out of it without a fatal accident, One other saying those that run today will fight tomorrow if cornered there can many many accidents

No, I don't understand your logic behind this. This is an attempt by you and like minded people to stifle free speech. People are allowed to have different opinions on the war whether you fight or not. You do not control who is allowed to speak and who isn't. Last time i checked, we still honored the first amendment.

No, you can support the cause in other ways. Not everyone is a fighter....some people are more helpful staying here. Such as supporting the families here, sending packages etc, being politically active, and so on. Plus not everyone who has joined the military gets automatically sent to the middle east, in particular Iraq, so would you call them hypocritical? No you wouldnt because they are helping in other ways.

2007-10-09 00:21:30 · answer #6 · answered by Anonymous · 2 1

Nope not really. By that logic, the people who are against the war should be in Iraq fighting against America. If it is an unjust war you should be fighting to stop it, otherwise your just a hypocrite. You should be on the front lines, being willing to put on one of those suicide bombs to further the cause of those that want us to leave Iraq, if that is what you really believe in. So no, the logic fails, especially in a country where joining the army is strictly voluntary, and all the people there chose to take the risk that they might see combat. Are they brave? hell yeah. does that mean you can't have an opinion if you don't wear a uniform? No.

Because a lot of us that believe this war is nessary have already served in the military. Some like me have over 20 years in uniform. How many years did you serve?

it depends really....
Just because your not on the frontline doesnt mean, your not invloved.

i.e
G.W.Bush, he says its neccesary, and well he is in the war, he leads it. Just because he's not on the frontline doesnt mean he's not involved.

There will Always be Chiefs And Idians.

This is just food for though not my Actual P.O.V
