I don't know what made me think of this, but suppose you're sent to jail for life? What happens to your Social Security payments or other money you may have? (And suppose you have no family to leave it to?)

SSR, social security retirement is not paid while you are incarcerated but when you die if you have survivors they can, if eligible, collect survivors benefits

SSI, you don't collect and there are not any survivors benefits after you're dead

SSDI, same as SSI, except in some circumstances dependent children can continue to collect SSI or cash assistance(welfare) while you are incarcerated IF they were receiving SSI or welfare as a dependent child with a disabled parent before your incarceration

you earn effectively no social security in prison. thus, the years one spends in prison count as $0 contribution, which lowers your lifetime average, and might lower your payments upon receipt of social security or disability

there are various human beings in this u . s . now utilising pretend social risk-free practices numbers who have not been caught yet. So i'm confident the possibility of him getting caught is a lot under one hundred%. yet I confident desire it occurs. human beings like your boyfriend could desire to get caught, visit reformatory and be deported.
