When I was a kid in the 1930s, we strung popcorn to decorate our Christmas tree. After the tree came down,we ate the popcorn. My mother used to color it too.

hi yes...it's a bit tricky, but worth itcause it looks great on the tree. if you do it use a very slender needle to string it and it won't be as likely to break the popped kernals. cranberries are pretty if they're strung and hung with the popcorn. it hearkens back to the aancient times when the pagans always decorated a tree out of doors with edible things for the animals to enjoy....we have done this a few times and it's fun to watch the animals and birds go to the tree. have fun and happy holidays!

Yes! Thanks for reminding me! My kids and I had a very lean Christmas the first year after my divorce. We strung popcorn, made paper chains and sang a lot of songs to get us in the mood of the season.

Yes. It is an interminable process that ends up with broken kernels, stuffed faces and more fun than you'd think.
