What is so bad about women walking around topless that it is illegal?
Everyone knows what breasts look like anyways. And kids don't think dirty until adults put ideas in their heads.

I know your being sarcastic but seriously.. why not? Everyone should be naked if they want... why cover the human body? There are only 2 sets of equipment... if you don't have one set you have the other.. so what?

I saw lots of naked people as a child and I'm not a pervert at all. If anything.. it has the opposite affect.

I agree wholeheartedly. My 2 year old sees his parents naked all the time. He doesn't seem like he's growing up maladjusted.
My question is--why do the prudes always get to set the tone? It seems that if one person can be offended, then everyone has to curb their own behavior to their approval...

It is legal in Ontario, Canada. Has been for about 10 years now. Not many women go topless though...just because women can, doesn't mean that society is ready for it. But yes, I've seen men with larger breasts than some women. We're used to it. We're not used to women going topless in North America. It will take a mental/social change before any legal change will have an affect.

Actually, in many places all over the country, it is technically legal for women to go bare chested. It's not something they like advertised because it would cause problems. Society has sexualized nudity. Any skin showing is seen as a sexual statement. This is wrong.

It would be interesting to examine the crime statistics of countries that allow it without limitation, just to see if there is any correlation between physical exposure and sexual deviancy as some have suggested. My guess is just the opposite is true. To remove the power of secrecy through exposure has always been a better thing. Americans are especially ignorant when it comes to issues of sexuality, even to the point of being infantile. Then we could look at the legalization of prostitution, marijuana and other things currently held in this society as taboo.

People who say that children who often see naked adult bodies are clueless.
Look at people in primitive tribes, where the adults often wear very little clothing or none at all. Do those children grow up perverted? No, of course not. In fact, unlike westerners, they often place greater emphasis on personality and skills rather than appearance.
I think if everyone went around naked all the time, that would be a lot better for society. Things that we consider "gross" now wouldn't be so bad to us anymore...for example, seeing a naked elderly person wouldn't be weird or gross, it would just be natural. Plus, I think this would prompt people to take better care of their bodies, knowing they'd be on display all the time. Also, this would help a lot less people be insecure about the way their bodies look with clothes off...because obviously everyone would already know what they looked like.
Honestly people, look at primitive tribes, and then you'll see how harmless public nudity can be!

Oh, I don't know about that. My father used to walk around the house naked and it was pretty scary.
Anyway, breasts are dual-purpose organs. One purpose for infant feeding and the second is of a sexual nature, in modern times, breasts are mimics of the female buttocks.
Even if it were legal, I still wouldn't bare my breasts to strangers out of modesty.
Many women do bare part or all of their breasts nowadays, it is the norm, and while men are attracted to it, there is still a stigma of being seen as easy. That's just the way things are.

Breasts are considered in the same category as a sex/reproductive organ, even though they're technically not. But they still are gender-specific body parts so they are, in a sense, sexual. So showing them in public is like indecent exposure.
However, some US States have legalized it so women CAN go around topless. But 99.9% of women still would never do that because they'd feel "naked" in public.

I don't know why it's illegal, I just know that I wouldn't go bare-chested because I don't like to walk around without support. Even in bed I wear a sports bra. I'm just peculiar about that whole thing though. I need support!

Even if the law passed in all 50 states very few women
would do it, because they are slaves of their own sexuality.
They fear the judgment of other women more than what
men or even perverts may think. This is a major cultural
issue in our country. Women have a long way to go
sexually. They are not honest with themselves sexually so
don't expect them to be honest with their mates. Most of
the problems in relationships are derived from their own
sexual delusions.
