I've got a raging urinary tract infection for which I just got a prescription for Antibiotics filled tonight, so I've already taken my first dose. But in the last few hours I've been passing clots, rather large sized ones that remind me a lot of what I tend to pass during that time of the time. I just wondered....is that normal for a UTI, the blood clots? Anybody ever experience that before?

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I'm sure it's not from my vagina or a period, because a) I'm ON my period and wearing tampons, haven't passed any clots that way, and b) I can feel them when they come out.

Will have to call the doctor tomorrow. Thanks.

Blood clots are not a "normal" symptom of an uncomplicated UTI... Are you sure it is not your period? If it is not I would suggest calling the on- call doctor from the office where you were given the prescription for antibiotics and telling them about the blood clots

That can happen, although I am wondering if you were checked for a kidney stone? Sometimes they don't cause extreme pain and the "passing" of them scrape the tubing inside as the come out. I had these symptoms with a kidney stone myself. Also, like one of the other answers said...could you be passing blood clots from your vagina and not your peeper?
