YES!!
The woman who lives across the street from my sister took a baby robin away from her cat and raised it and freed it.
When she is outside and the bird hears her it comes to her.
I was visiting my sister and was walking her dog out in the street when the neighbor came out to say hello to me. We stood there talking and the robin landed on her porch roof then moved over to a branch in the tree we were standing under.
I knew about the bird from my sister so I held my hand palm up, out to the bird and it flew down and landed on my middle finger and looked back and forth between me and the lady then hopped over to her shoulder. I reached over and stroked the robin on it's chest and it held it's head up so that I could make longer strokes. It then flew up on top of my head while the lady stroked it.
This was the second year that the bird has been around.

It is awesome to have a bird come by to say a hello!

I am so afraid of birds that if it came near me well, first lets hope it's not in a public place where there are lots of people watching because it's a guaruntee that I will make a complete fool of myself.

The person that the bird belongs to will hate me because they love their bird and I'll come close to injuring it while trying to run from it.

The bird will probably flee and lets just hope it's wings are clipped so it won't fly off somewhere to be safe.

No. But that would be great, just like out of an idyllic 'life is great film'!
On holiday in Africa once, a guy put a Gecko (I think that's what it was, a lizard type creature, anyway!), on my finger and then had the flippin' cheek to ask for money for the privilege! I suppose that's how they made their money, I was a bit taken aback at the time though! I wouldn't charge to put a caterpillar on someone's finger! : )

Once in the Bahamas, a parrot sat on my shoulder but I have never had a bird sit on my finger.

I have, the only problem is that it's our own pet bird that i found outside! I live in the UK and found a cocatiel in the garden, they don't survive outside here. It was in reasonable health and loved me, talked well and was friendly. I saw it's claws needed clipping so I took it to the vet, who clipped its claws while I was holding it!

The bird has never forgiven me, it still sits on my finger but it hates me! It bites me and draws blood every chance it gets....

:o((

Yes, a friend had an aviary at the bottom of his garden, with baby birds and everything, ahhh.

Yeah... Once I went to some Native American festival/carnival type thing, and an American kestrel (mini-falcon) sat on my wrist, then walked over to my finger, then took off. It was pretty cool.
