That word was run its course and needs to be 'literally' eliminated from your lexicon.

I don't know about eliminating it. If you ever want to talk about a figurative meaning, you're going to want to talk about a literal one as well.

Maybe you're not speaking literally, though. You're just literally fed up with hearing it misused as a substitute for "completely."

I could literally go all day without saying it if I had to. I mean I totally don't need to use the word at all. I just don't want it in my life anymore, know what I'm saying.

I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I USED IT , A FEW YEARS AGO IT WAS A REGULAR WORD FOR ME
